Losing a loved one is hard for anyone. Often times losing a parent is expected as the normal progression of life. However, losing a parent tragically and unexpectedly is indescribable. What do you do when the glue that holds your small family together is taken from you? How do you hold it together when you've witnessed this heinous act while hiding in a closet with your child, fearing for your own life? This is the world La'Nin Green, her young daughter, and younger brother now live in. Her mother was murdered June 2014 to what can only be attributed to a senseless act of violence. You can read the story at the links below.
We often hear it takes a village to raise a child and it is now time for the proverbial village to come together. While La'Nin is a strong, independent young lady; she is someone's child and she needs your help to continue holding her family together. She is a single mother who has now taken on the responsibility of raising her teenage brother as she knows her mother would want. As you can imagine, the trials this young lady is facing and will encounter in the future are beyond comprehension for most.
As such, there has been a campaign set up to help Ms. Green start what is now her new life. Please visit the "It Takes a Village" campaign at the site below. We ask that you not only donate, but share with your family and friends. All proceeds will go to helping La'Nin with the expenses of moving: deposits (rent, utilities, etc) and basic needs. There is no donation too small. We also ask that you share any information you may have for other resources that may help in our endeavor to ensure La'Nin is able to take care of her young daughter and brother. Thank you in advance for your assistance and taking time to share this information.
Sincerely,
The Village
